Over the last year, a lot of stakeholders have expressed their concerns about the “Make in India” concept of the Modi government and what it actually means to healthcare in India.
As if to answer those questions, the government has organised a “Make in India Week” to be held in Mumbai from February 13 onwards to showcase India’s potential in the manufacturing sector. It remains to be seen what the “Make in India” concept will mean to the healthcare sector in India and how it may affect IP issues and manufacture of local generics.
